Shared internet services are pre-deployed throughout the convention center. Devices operate on a shared network and IP address pool, suitable for general event use.

Placing Your Order
These tips will help contribute to a successful event and can save you money!
- Order early. This allows you to take advantage of advanced discount rates.
- Let the Event Technology Services department help you plan your Internet order. Submit your requirements in writing as early as possible. This will allow for time for us to discuss the different services available and decide which would fit the best with your event needs and budget. Orders can be submitted to your SPCC event manager or directly to the Director of Event Technology at itsupport@saltpalace.com. A quote will be drawn up for your approval and signature once the order has been finalized.
- Provide floor plans that show your service locations for all orders. This will help us get your services installed earlier and accurately.
- Debating Wired or Wireless? Wired Internet is more reliable as it provides a physical connection directly to your device. But wireless will allow you the freedom to be mobile and move around the facility. Also, there are many devices in use now that can only use wireless. Choosing between the two will depend on the devices you have, and the nature of the connectivity required to run your program or service.
- Notification of cancellation of any service ordered must be received in writing a minimum of ten days prior to event move-in. A 20% cancellation fee will be assessed on any service canceled fewer than 10 days prior to move-in. Services cannot be canceled once the event move-in has started.
- A statement of charges will be submitted to the SPCC accounting department to be included with any other department service charges on your settlement invoice. If advance payment is required, that will reflect as a credit on your settlement. If you prefer to pay for all services in advance, contact Event Technology Services to make arrangements.

HELP! My internet doesn’t work!
Check to make sure all cables are properly plugged in to the device and switch (if applicable). If you are using Wi-Fi, make sure your device is connected to the right network. If you are still experiencing issues, please call 385-468-2229, and we can dispatch a technician to assist.
What is the cancellation policy?
Services can be cancelled anytime before move-in begins. Once event move-in has started we can make changes and alterations to services, but we do not allow cancellations.
I need a hardline connection, should I choose Shared or Dedicated Internet?
Choose Shared Internet for:
- normal internet browsing, checking email, web demonstrations and online sales.
(Internet Basic: 5 Mbps is recommended for 1-2 devices, Internet Business, 20 Mbps is recommended for 3-10 devices.)
Choose Dedicated Internet for:
- live streaming, large uploads/downloads, PCI compliance/security requirements, or high bandwidth applications.
Can I bring a router?
Yes, we allow the use of routers on any of our hardlines. However, we do not rent routers. We can rent switches as part of our “Additional Devices” service.
What is the upload and download speed?
All wired and wireless service details are specified in item descriptions and are symmetrical, meaning that upload and download speeds are the same. Example: a 20 Mbps service is 20 Mbps up and down.
How many people do I share the Shared Internet service with?
Shared Internet services operate on the same VLAN across the facility and are shared amongst all customers who utilize the service. The number of additional users will vary by event.
I have several devices that will be connected via hardline. What should I order?
You will need to order the “Additional Devices” service. For example, if you have three devices, you will need to order two additional devices. The "Additional Devices" service includes a switch, patch cables and floor networking labor.
I have cable that needs to be run under my flooring. How do I order that?
If you order a wired service, we will lay the cabling in your booth during event setup; we will make every effort to lay cables under the temporary flooring. In order to better assist with this, we must have also received a detailed drawing with measurements, showing where the lines are to be placed.
I need public IPs, what do I order?
If you need a public IP, you will need to choose a Dedicated Internet service. Dedicated Internet gives you the option to utilize DHCP/private IP or a public IP address.
How many devices can I connect to a Wi-Fi Hotspot?
Wi-Fi Hotspots are available in 20, 50 and 100 Mb increments. We recommend 2 Mbps per user. For example, a 20 Mb Wi-Fi Hotspot would typically support up to 10 users.
What happens if I exceed the number of recommended users on the hotspot?
Your Wi-Fi users are all working off a set amount of ordered bandwidth. You can add more users to your network, but that will yield slower speeds and low performance.
Can I stream on Wi-Fi?
Yes, you can stream on Wi-Fi, but we do not recommend it. Wireless internet is inherently vulnerable to interference, noise and subject to the activity of others on the same network. A wired connection is always preferred if the streaming is critical to the success of your event.
Can I connect my printers to the Wi-Fi?
Yes, you can connect printers to our Wi-Fi Hotspots and Buyout services. Please let us know if you need to use wireless printing so we can allow this service on your network.
I have a Smart TV. Can I connect it to the Salt Palace Premium Wi-Fi?
No, a Smart TV does not utilize a web browser which is required, as our Premium Wi-Fi services use a splash page for access. We recommend our Smart Wi-Fi, Hotspot or buyout Wi-Fi services for smart TVs, credit card terminals, streaming/casting devices and any other IoT devices that need Internet access.
Are there any additional labor costs?
For most services, standard labor is included in the pricing prior to checkout. However, some venues and services may require the purchase of additional labor hours to fulfill your order(s). Feel free to contact our offices if you have questions or concerns about labor for your order.
What is the difference between an analog and digital telephone line?
Analog lines are recommended for credit card terminals, fax machines and other services that do not require a handset. Digital lines are recommended for office-style settings. These lines come with a handset that can handle 1 or 2 lines and offers standard features like call waiting, call rollover and voicemail.
What type of water service should I order?
If you need a continuous source of water, order a "Cold Water Connection". You can pair this with a drain line if needed. If you only need a container to be filled, order the "Water Fill & Empty" service.
What type of connectors are provided for air services?
Compressed Air: 100 PSI, 3/8" quick universal disconnect and c/o valve.
What type of connectors are provided for gas services?
Natural Gas: 1/2" quick disconnect. 2 lb. regulator included. Equipment must have a 1/2" NPT male fitting on an adapter to fit.
Why can't I order a Natural Gas service?
In order to maintain safety and remain compliant with all State and Federal law concerning the use of natural gas use on the exhibit floor; our facilities require orders be placed a minimum of 3 weeks in advance for approval.
What type of connectors are provided for water (Cold Water Connection)?
Cold Water Connection: 3/4" garden hose fitting with a shut-off valve.
What type of connectors are provided for water (Drain Line)?
Drain Line: Semi-rigid PVC in 1", 1.5", and/or 2". Slip-fit with hose clamp connection. Gravity flows to the nearest floor drainage box.
Can I have my water tank refilled during the event?
Yes, we can supply a "top-off" service at $95/hour (1 hour minimum)
